Carrying on the family business has taken on a special meaning for both of us.
Having both come from families who own and operate their own bakeries we are continuing the tradition ourselves at Ohlson’s Bakery…Café LLC
The tradition of family runs deep for us.
Lisa’s granddad opened his first bakery in 1934 in Brillion, Wisconsin. Her dad and mom opened Best Bakery in 1956 in Menasha, Wisconsin. In 1979 they opened Manderfield’s Home Bakery in Appleton, Wisconsin. Today they have grown to three retail bakeries operated by her three brothers in the Fox Valley.
Marve’s parents owned and operated a bakery in Attica, NY. After their bakery closed his parents Betty and Marve were instrumental in helping set up and establish our bakery. In October 1988 we opened our bakery in a two-car garage on Main St in the Clarence Hollow. We moved to our present location in May 2001.
Our baked goods are a collection of recipes handed down from Lisa’s granddad, dad, and Marve’s parents. Stop in and taste the tradition of our old fashion quality. Savor the aroma of our baked goods being baked, and nibble on the sample of sweets that are offered each day.
